As a longstanding member of the Greenpoint community, ExxonMobil seeks to make real and enduring contributions for the benefit of our families, colleagues and neighbors.

Public School 110
A $30,000 grant from ExxonMobil allowed this school to stock its computer lab with new equipment.

Middle School 126
On October 28, 2008, The Dream Tour came to the John Ericsson Intermediate School. The Dream Tour was created by the Harris Foundation with a grant from the ExxonMobil Foundation to inspire and encourage students to study science, technology, engineering and math in order to fulfill their potential and realize their dreams.

Greenpoint YMCA
ExxonMobil’s involvement with the Greenpoint YMCA dates back to 1906, when John D. Rockfeller, Herbert Pratt and the Standard Oil Company contributed $100,000 to build the Greenpoint YMCA building on Meserole Avenue. Today, ExxonMobil continues to actively support the Greenpoint YMCA.

NYPD Auxiliary Police
Since 1991, ExxonMobil has donated more than $200,000 to the NYPD Auxiliary Police to support their work in the Greenpoint community, enabling them to purchase uniforms and necessary equipment that help contribute to their work assisting the police force.

Towne Square
ExxonMobil is a regular participant in the Greenpoint Earth Day Festival and SchoolFEST, family and neighborhood events planned by Towne Square, an organization founded to build a vibrant community and enrich the lives of the people of Greenpoint and Williamsburg.

ExxonMobil uses the event as an opportunity to meet in person with community residents to inform them of its remediation progress. Here, Christopher Proce, Senior Hydrogeologist with Roux Associates, an environmental services company working with ExxonMobil, talks with a visitor to ExxonMobil’s booth. During the 2009 Earth Day Festival, ExxonMobil representatives spoke with more than 200 community residents, answering their questions about the ExxonMobil Greenpoint Remediation Project.

St. Cecilia Basketball League
ExxonMobil donated a new scoreboard for the St. Cecilia Basketball League, a fixture in Greenpoint for the past 50 years, providing children with the opportunity to learn skills and good sportsmanship in a supportive environment.

Brooklyn International Film Festival
As a sponsor of the Brooklyn International Film Festival, ExxonMobil made it possible for four Polish films to be shown in Greenpoint.

Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce
As an active participant in the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, ExxonMobil works to promote business and ensure that Brooklyn enjoys the benefits of a vibrant local economy.

Mickelson ExxonMobil Teachers Academy
Each year, ExxonMobil sends a group of 3rd through 5th grade teachers to the Mickelson ExxonMobil Teachers Academy, a one-week professional development program designed to give teachers skills to get their students excited about careers in science and math.

Greenpoint Reform Church
ExxonMobil employees and contractors hold an annual food drive for the Greenpoint Reform Church pantry.

U.S. Military Academy at West Point
Seven cadets from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point visit the Greenpoint site for a half day of tours and presentations on the remediation processes utilized at the Greenpoint site.
