ExxonMobil and other parties remediating in the Greenpoint area have made significant progress in their remediation efforts. More than 10 million gallons of petroleum products have been recovered so far. Monitoring results show steady progress in reducing the size of the area underground contaminated with petroleum products.

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) report

A study released by the EPA in 2007 examined the history of the Greenpoint contamination, reviewed the remedial process to date and examined health and safety issues related to the underground petroleum contamination.
